Feeling Strangled by Vines?

Thursday, October 27, 2022 | 10:00am - 11:00am

Webinar Description

Join Dan Barringer, Preserve Manager and Invasives Management Coordinator with Natural Lands, to learn about some well-established and up-and-coming perennial vines, their impact and management: Pale and black swallowwort; Asiatic bittersweet, hardy kiwi vine, kudzu, and Japanese akebia. A couple of these species are good prospects for EDRR: Early Detection - Rapid Response, but only if you are already aware of them! And one, Japanese akebia, has just been added to the list of noxious weeds in Pennsylvania.

Dan will also talk about using iMapInvasives to track these species and the work being done to manage them, as well as how to best document records with photos in iMapInvasives.

Registration is required to attend this free webinar presentation.

The Pennsylvania iMapInvasives Program is a partnership of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, the Pennsylvania Natural Heritage Program, and NatureServe.
